Planted to stand against the wind.
Across the American prairie, farmers planted rows of Osage-orange as windbreaks. The hedges took the wind so the fields didn't, and the posts cut from them stood in the ground for fifty years.
A data center has the same job. Utility outages, heat waves, failed equipment and load that arrives faster than planned all hit the facility, and the business behind it shouldn't feel any of it. We work on the parts that decide whether it does: the power path, the cooling plant, the controls, and the schedule and budget that get them built.
